The Chicken and the Frog Adventure, Continued

For those of you who remember our post about the meat chicken that survived the big storm in a drainage ditch a couple of weeks ago, you'll also remember that we were thinking about keeping him, just to honor his courage and his will to live, but we didn't think we could.

Well here's the thing. He's a she! Yes, believe it or not, in a coup full of roosters (we could never keep roosters in our neighborhood), she's a hen, and a strong hen at that.  You know what this means, right?

We get to keep her! The truth is we've been trying to find a fourth hen to add to our layer flock, because we've not been getting enough eggs. She's perfect! She's strong, she's willful and she's a survivor. She'll be able to take care of herself as she's introduced to the other girls and also give us lots of eggs. There's no doubt about it.

You'll remember that Robin suggested the perfect name, "Storm". So please welcome her to our permanent flock. She's certainly earned a spot.

  5. Hopefully she will lay many eggs. I was thinking of the character storm in X-Men but your boys is too young to know this still ;-).
