The cucumbers have kept Belinda busy this week! We sold several pounds roadside too. |
The boys in their Halloween costumes. Yes I know it's July, but they don't seem to care. The kale plants are almost waist high to our C. James. |
We also harvested blackberries, raspberries, radishes, zucchini, tomatillos, tomatoes (they're just beginning now), and a couple carrots.
pickling cucumbers 31 lb 8 oz
potatoes 28 lb
kale 4 lb
radishes 2 lb
tomatoes 1 lb (our first of the season)
tomatillos 12 oz
lettuce 8 oz
zucchini 8 oz
blackberries 8 oz
raspberries 8 oz
carrots 4 oz
Weekly total 69 lb 8 oz
Wow this is awesome!! I am really getting a little jealous of great harvest!! We are just now getting blooms on our cucumbers so I am hoping it won't be to long until we will be picking them!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your first tomatoes! Boy, I bet Bel felt like she was working in a pickle factory! That's a lot of cucumbers!
ReplyDeleteLove the pic of the boys....too cute!
:) Cute costumes! That's a nice harvest on the cukes! I could do midget ones I suppose, but think I'll wait.
ReplyDeleteNice that you could get such a harvest and be able to sell some roadside too..and the Kale looks lovely, I planted some but it didn't come up :o( I was so disappointed...it's been so hot ..I can't blame them :o)
ReplyDeleteAmazing you had such a bountiful cucumber harvest and even had to sell them away. Caterpillars are having a hearty meal on our kale at the moment. You garden is so much fun with those handsome young lad in their holloween costumes.
ReplyDeleteAlicia, cucumbers seem to be a pretty big hit around here. I hope you have a big harvest too when they do finally come.
ReplyDeleteRobin, Bel has been a busy bee. Or should I say busy boiler. We'll be in good shape this winter. Now we're hoping for a bumper tomato crop!
Apple Pie Gal, thanks. Little Q. James insisted on cutting the kale all by himself.
Ginny, We've made a whole 12 dollars so far this week. That's not bad considering all the stuff we're still keeping.
Malay-Kadazan girl, We're amazed too. Maybe the cukes will slow down now. Sorry to hear about your kale. Hopefully they'll leave a few leaves for you.
Wow that is a lot of pickles to make. I just gave a small stack of picklers to my townhouse mates for a party they are having. Occasionally she comes in and has me try out different cucumber and yogurt salad recipes. Yum.
ReplyDeleteHi Daphne, you're a faithful Harvest Monday host. Thanks! We were able to sell about 10 pounds roadside. The rest, Belinda is canning, and the cucumbers keep coming.
