The Liebster Blog Award

Thank you so much Apple Pie Gal for awarding our blog the Liebster award.

"Liebster" is a German word meaning dear, sweet, kind, nice, good, beloved, lovely, kindly, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome. Thank you for thinking of our blog when words like this come to your mind.

The Liebster is awarded to spotlight up and coming bloggers who currently have less than 200 followers.

Now for the rules:
1. Thank the giver and link back to the blogger who gave it to you.
2. Reveal your top 5 picks and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog.
3. Copy and paste the award on your blog.
4. Have faith that your followers will spread the love to other bloggers.
5. And most of all - have fun!

Now for our five humble picks, in no particular order.

1. The Gardener of Eden. After emailing Robin with several gardening questions last winter, she quietly invited us to join the world of blogging gardeners. We're so glad she did! Robin also very graciously invited her own followers to visit our new blog. We've been happy gardening partners ever since. She and "The Italian" keep a full and lovely garden at home and at the garden plots. She takes amazing pictures, and is always eager to share helpful gardening tips with inquiring gardeners.

2. Sky Minded and Ever Growing by Mellisa, AKA Bee Girl. Bee Girl began her blog around the same time we began ours, but we only discovered her recently through Harvest Monday. We have since become eager followers. We enjoy reading about everything from Americauna egg harvests to canning garden vegetables. At first I thought "Sky Minded" was a reference to the 7,000 feet elevation of Sante Fe, NM. But I was wrong. You'll have to read her bio to find out why she gave her blog that name.

3. http://gingerbreadshouse7.blogspot.com/ by Gingerbreadhouse7. Ginny (as she's known by her blogging friends) and her husband Cecil are retired folks living in North Carolina. Ginny loves gardening and cooking, and Cecil is always there to help with whatever wild gardening project she's cooking up. They're never boring! Ginny is always eager to talk about what other garden bloggers are doing and to help whenever she's asked.

4.Kebun Malay-Kadazan Girls by Malay-Kadazan girl is a delightful blog written by the mom of a cute little boy named Rayyan. We consider them our gardening partners in "The Outback". They live in Adelaide, Australia, (where, by the way, they are able to garden year 'round. Wow!) We love to follow her blog. She grows exotic vegetables, beautiful flowers and shares outstanding recipes. She should have 500 followers.

5. Back to Basics by Prarie Cat. She and her husband "Ted" have a new country home, with new chickens, new gardens and new views. When you visit them, you'll read about everything from hang dry laundry to garden varmints ransacking the harvest. She and Ted have jumped feet first into the homesteading life. Their eagerness and dedication to a more sustainable lifestyle comes through in every post.

I really hope you'll take a minute to visit our blogging friends. They have been "liebster" to us, and we hope they can be "liebster" to you too.
