Harvest Monday 11/7/11

This Harvest Monday with Daphne's Dandelions we harvested 2 pounds 8 oz of carrots and 4 tiny raspberries. Boy were those raspberries a surprise! We've been having freezing nights for a couple weeks now.

  1. At least you had some berries to get an idea of what they will taste like :o)

  3. I think the fall raspberries that are chilled hard - are the sweetest! It's amazing how long they will keep going before the weather finally puts an end to them.

  5. Ginny, we sure did get an idea of their flavor. They were delicious.

Robin, thanks. We've been saving them for this time of year. We probably have another couple of pounds to go.

KitsapFG, This is really our first year growing raspberries. Until now we had no idea they could weather the frost.

Malay-Kadazan, We had them for dinner last night with butter, and they were very sweet. Mmmm.

  7. Hi Bee Girl, we planted raspberries this year in earnest. We lost at least 1/3 of the plants we planted. Still, we have about 45 healthy plants now. We're really hoping for a big raspberry yield next year!
