Garden Plans Big and Small

I know it's crazy, but we're already so excited for spring! We've gotten seeds from several garden bloggers. Hooray! Thank you. It makes us all the more eager for spring. Like Robin said, it's never to early to begin making garden plans. It's not oil on canvas, but pen on paper is a start!
Isn't it pretty?
Our little man, C. James has his own garden plans today. Out of the blue he said, "pa, I'm gonna plants some carrots". So I gave him seeds and he went out into the cold in his socks and planted them. He came in and said, "It's a good thing we don't have to pull weeds out there, the weeds are all dying." We'll have to keep an eye out for those carrots. Maybe this spring the garden fairy will have to visit that spot with a few fresh seeds as a guarantee. Wink, wink.

Are you making plans for spring too?

  5. C. James is on his way to becoming a master gardener! Children sure do make gardening fun, don't they, LOL!

I'm deep into interior work, so my garden planning might have to wait until February.

  6. Jane, I don't doubt it. It's 47 degrees outside tonight! We're going to watch and wait.

Mrs Pickles, It's the garden plans for spring that we hope will get us through the winter!

Robin, I don't doubt it. He already thinks he knows!

Ginny, I'm very jealous of your "fall" harvest down there. Next time I harvest broccoli, I'm going to remember to include the leaves.

Granny, We're hoping so. They do make it so much fun. If seed gifts from friends have the same effect on you as they do on us, I bet you'll get the gardening bug sooner than February. I'm just sayin'.

  8. Yeah...I'm in planning mode, too! I can't seem to help it...we've just entered winter and I'm longing to work the earth and sow some seeds! C has the right idea...just throw down some seeds and be grateful for the lack of weeds! Happy New Year and happy planning :-)

  13. It is always exciting to plan for spring. But I never follow any of my plan;-). It always depended on which seedlings grows well first and ready to be transplanted. Yet I still do daydream and make plans for spring each winter.
