Composting for Spring
We're piling up the composted manure this week. It's full of worms. Cracker, Cruncher and Muncher are 3 very happy hens! I have to admit, I have a hard time sharing garden worms with them, but there is plenty to go around. I shouldn't be stingy. Anyway, the chickens do their part by spreading the compost around the garden. Last fall they scratched through and spread out half of a small truck load. We didn't have to touch it with a shovel.

Boy, that's some nice looking manure compost! You are one lucky gardener to have so many helpers!!
ReplyDeleteHow many chickens do you have?
We have 3 chickens. They give us about 5 eggs every two days. My wife wants 2 more. We're always running out of eggs in the kitchen.
