Harvest Monday

The summer garden is slowing down now. On Monday we harvested one more cantaloupe and throughout the week we harvested 3 watermelons, several pounds of tomatoes, jalapenos, raspberries, spaghetti squash, and yellow squash.

Today is Belle's big tomato canning day, and we'll both be doing some fall garden planting. We're putting cauliflower and cabbage out that we've been growing indoors under lights.

Pumpkin Squash 2 lb 8 oz

This week C. James turned 5! Happy Birthday kiddo. We love you!

  1. Happy Birthday to C. James! Boy, that cake looks yummy!

Although the harvests may be slowing had a good week!

I hope that your great little garden helpers will be helping you plant today!

  2. Happy Birthday Handsome James!Oh my you really have a good melon harvest this year! Not to forgot your winter squashes harvest is amazing too. I am planning to grow Spaghettie Squash for the first time this summer and I have never seen the plant or eat the fruit either. Does it climb or sprawl on the ground?

  3. Congratulations on a very fruitful harvest!!! ;-) And happy birthday to C. James! 5 is a biggie!!!

  4. Happy Birthday C. James!

You had a pretty good sized harvest for a garden that is "slowing down"!

  5. Hi Robin, thanks for saying so. We're really hoping for a strong fall garden harvest; but we're not sure. Tonight feels cold. I'm afraid we're going to have an early winter.

Hi Malay-Kadazan girl,we've really enjoyed our melons this year. We think our success is in part do to the hillsides southern exposure to the sun.

Bee Girl, thanks for stopping by again. 5 is a biggie! C. James helped us clean the house today. All because he's 5 now! whoohoo!

kitsapFG, thanks, we're sure hoping for a continuing supply of produce through the fall.

  6. Wow I can't even imagine 63 pounds being a slow week, thats amazing!

  7. Hi Vanessa thanks for dropping by. Most of that weight is melons and winter squash. We sure could have used more tomatoes this year.

  8. Well Happy Belated Birthday to C. James!!!

  9. Thanks Apple Pie Gal and thanks for your kind comments about my attempt at deciphering your mystery bloggers.
