Harvest Monday

The summer garden is slowing down now. On Monday we harvested one more cantaloupe and throughout the week we harvested 3 watermelons, several pounds of tomatoes, jalapenos, raspberries, spaghetti squash, and yellow squash.

Today is Belle's big tomato canning day, and we'll both be doing some fall garden planting. We're putting cauliflower and cabbage out that we've been growing indoors under lights.

Harvest Totals

Cantaloupe 7 lb 3 oz
Jalapenos 1 lb
Kale 1 lb
Raspberries 1 lb. 8 oz
Pumpkin Squash 2 lb 8 oz
Spaghetti Squash 2 lb 12 oz
Yellow Squash 8 oz
Tomatoes 8 lb 9 oz
Watermelon 38 lb 7 oz

Weekly Total 63 lb 15 oz

Be sure to stop by Daphne's Dandelions Harvest Monday and see what other gardeners are harvesting from their gardens this time of year. Happy Labor Day!

This week C. James turned 5! Happy Birthday kiddo. We love you!

  2. Happy Birthday Handsome James!Oh my you really have a good melon harvest this year! Not to forgot your winter squashes harvest is amazing too. I am planning to grow Spaghettie Squash for the first time this summer and I have never seen the plant or eat the fruit either. Does it climb or sprawl on the ground?

  5. Hi Robin, thanks for saying so. We're really hoping for a strong fall garden harvest; but we're not sure. Tonight feels cold. I'm afraid we're going to have an early winter.

Hi Malay-Kadazan girl,we've really enjoyed our melons this year. We think our success is in part do to the hillsides southern exposure to the sun.

Bee Girl, thanks for stopping by again. 5 is a biggie! C. James helped us clean the house today. All because he's 5 now! whoohoo!

kitsapFG, thanks, we're sure hoping for a continuing supply of produce through the fall.

  7. Hi Vanessa thanks for dropping by. Most of that weight is melons and winter squash. We sure could have used more tomatoes this year.
