Thursday's Kitchen Cupboard

It's bitter cold outside, but nice and warm in Belle's kitchen! This week she took our stash of pumpkins that were here...

and she baked them, scrapped them and processed them here...

and she made several 1lb packages of pumpkin yumminess for the freezer...
Oh yes, I almost forgot the seeds. They were delicious.

Hope you all will stop by the Gardener of Eden to see how other gardeners are using their harvest stores this winter.

    1. Thanks Ginny, she makes it very easy for me to say good stuff about her! I wish I could tell you what kind of pumpkin these are. They were volunteers. We just call them sugar pumpkins. Sorry to hear about your seeds.

  2. Love you pumpkins. I am going to try my luck at them this year. I bought a couple of small ones last year and canned them but they cost me an arm and a leg so really need to grow some.

  3. I have just a few pumpkins left in storage but they are holding up well. I intend to use one of them to make "pumpkin stuffed with everything good" soon and the other small ones will be similarly baked and pureed for later use.

    1. They are very nice looking pumpkins. They were in our living room window, where we could look at them any time. I kind of hate to see them go.

    1. That's a great question. I don't know. She did say they would replace the canned pumpkin puree that she's used in recipes in the past. I remember pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread. Maybe she'll make pumpkin soup.

  10. Man, how lucky are you, having that poor woman slave over a stove in the middle of a cold and blistery winter... oh wait, I bet she's enjoying every minute of it!

How does she keep her baking sheets so sparkly and new-looking?! Mine are, well, burnt and black and not so pretty.

    1. That's so funny. Belle is having a laugh too. If you take a close look at the pans, they're not sparkly. It's aluminum foil! I am lucky, 'cause I know she's workin' hard for us!
