Birthday Timbers

My brother sent me a text on Saturday that said, "Happy 10th anniversary of your 29th birthday." I like that perspective.  Belle and the boys gave me rubber boots! Sorry ladies, they are not the frilly and stylish kind that you have. Those will have to be for Belle. I'll stick with plain ol' black.

In the picture above C. James and I are working on a graded wall. We used the large timbers that I salvaged from an old barn in the area.

Belle's thankful for these birthday timbers. She was tired of watching her baby blackberry plants get mowed under with the grass.  I think they're safe now!

Happy gardening all!

  1. That looks like a lot of work. Nice to have the blackberries separated though. And Happy Birthday!

    1. It took a day and a half to finish. I'm still sore, but I'll always remember that terrace as the thing I did on my 39th b-day! The boots will be a great memory too.

  2. Boots! What a practical gift. I gave my wife a digging spade once for her birthday. Gardeners are different people! Hope you had a great day.

    2. Hi Marianne, glad you stopped by. It is warm enough for t-shirts, but only for about 3 hours mid-day. We took advantage of it!

    1. Not a day! Well OK, it's been a couple days now, but I still don't look a day over 39.
